Photographers and other Internet
Scams
Back to Newsletters
Dear Photographer
We are writing to inform you of potential scams that
are directed at photographers. Please be aware that
these are generally very common and are not limited
to you as photographers or specifically ourweddingmemories.co.uk.
This is an issue for many websites and their registered
users.
More details of individual scams can be found at
http://www.ourweddingmemories.co.uk/files/scams.htm.
The latest we have been made aware of is of someone
purporting to represent a USA based photography company,
AW Photography. The company say that these individuals
are not connected or represent the company in anyway.
We are unsure of what these individuals hope to gain
from this but if you have been in correspondence following
one of these e-mails please let us know the outcome.
We recommend ceasing contact and inform the authorities
if you have any concerns.
More details of this issue can be found at http://www.ourweddingmemories.co.uk/files/scams.htm
and there is a link to this page within your account.
We recommend that for any contracts or assignments,
only do business with trusted individuals, preferably
whom you have met in person and stick to your usual
terms and conditions. Never agree to accept a larger
payment than you have quoted and send the balance
to a third party.
**Remember, if an offer seems too good to be true
it generally is!!
If you know or have been a victim of other scams
please let us know so we can try to protect others.
If you need to edit, purchase or renew a listing
please login to your account at http://www.ourweddingmemories.co.uk/files/login.php
and follow the instructions.
If you require information on advertising opportunities
or have had trouble with the system please let us
know so we can assist.
Regards
David Canning
