So You already have a web site!!
- Do you achieve the traffic you expected

Now that you have your web site, the important thing is
to get people to it! It is no use having the best designed
web site on the Net if no one can see it.
But once people do arrive, how do you know?

Do you have a tracking
system giving number of visitors?
You should. A tracking system helps you monitor all traffic
activity helping you optimise your site for a good search
engine ranking

Do you know how they arrived at your site, which search
engines and phrases they used?
A good tracking system will not only count the number
of visitors but tell you how they arrived and search engine
phrases used.

Do you know which pages visitors are arriving through?
A good tracking system will also track visitor entry pages.
Many search engines, once they index your site may follow
links throughout the site, indexing further pages as they
go. This means that visitors will probably arrive at your
site via pages other than your home page!

If you have a counter on your home page but not on
further pages you will probably be getting a false visitor
count as it will not monitor visitors arriving via other
pages

All pages on your web site should be optimised for
different key phrases, increasing the number of search
phrases where visitors could find your site

YOU SHOULD NOT USE FRAMES!!!! as search
engines index other pages, visitors could arrive at
your site via one of the pages which should be inside
a frameset. This would mean that visitors would have
no means of navigation and give the impression of an
unprofessional site. The chances are they would leave
immediately resulting in lost business!
Also as the conent of the site resides on pages without
navigation it is more likely that visitors will arrive
via a page other than your home page.
The first step in the web site promotion battle is to get
